"If you only knew." These words proclaim the transformation Solitude Mountain Resort has taken over the past several years. What used to be a locals only day ski resort has become a family friendly European-styled pedestrian village boasting a world-class ski mountain, spectacular scenery, cozy resort accommodations and an abundance of activities. Getting to Solitude:
The moment you enter the canyon you'll start to understand what makes this resort such a special place. Located in Big Cottonwood Canyon, 30 miles from the Salt Lake City International Airport and only 12 short miles from the edge of Salt Lake City, Solitude is the epitome of an easy access mountain retreat.
Lifts and Runs:
Solitude has 3 high speed quad, 2 fixed quad, 1 triple chairlifts, and 2 double chairlifts. On the mountain find over 1,200 acres of top-notch terrain, including the pristine Honeycomb Canyon, and three bowls. In Honeycomb Canyon find 400 acres of natural terrain offers numerous skiing and riding options, and its geological features alone are enough to keep everyone coming back for more. 20% of the runs are beginner, 50% intermediate, and 30% advanced/expert. Terrain Park:
Solitude has a "family-friendly" terrain park, where everyone can fun no matter your experience level. All features are snow-based (no steel structures) and are designed for all levels. Winter and Ski Season:

Once reaching the resort, you find a unique village free of corporate clutter and big city flash, leaving you to unwind from your daily routines. Solitude has family and fine dining, plus the local's favorite watering hole "The Thirsty Squirrel." They also have a Nordic Center which offers nearly 20 kilometers of trails for both classic and skating styles of Nordic skiing. Other outdoor activities include a skating rink, a wonderful heated outdoor pool and hot tub area. At Club Solitude you can watch a movie in the mini-theater, play a game of billiards or challenge the kids to a game in the unique game room.
