Historic Old Town
Park City

Like many western cities Park City was settled by miners who hoped to make it big, and some did (George Hearst bought the Ontario Mine for $27,000 in 1872 and went on to produce fifty million dollars over the following years). The mining history and the people who settled the area shaped Park City into the city loved by locals and visitors alike.

Historic Old Town is a remnant of the mining days. This charming area of Park City plays host to visitors throughout the year and is the center for many activities including the Sundance Film Festival and Park City Arts Festival. Old Town is also known for dining, shopping, nightlife, and the arts.

One of Park City’s “must dos?is exploring Old Town. The quaint shops, art galleries, and museums can provide hours of entertainment. While exploring these shops it’s easy to take a break for breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of several café’s or restaurants located in Old Town. A few favorites include The Eating Establishment for breakfast, Main Street Deli for a delightful Rueben sandwich, Riverhorse which has live entertainment on weekends, and Grappa (Italian) for its ambiance. Old Town is also a hot spot to people watch, particularly during Sundance.

The benefits of staying in Old Town are seemingly endless. Old Town lodging provides easy access to all of the attractions found in this area. In addition some vacation homes are located on Park City’s free shuttle route providing access to other areas of Park City like Deer Valley, The Canyons, Park City Mountain Resort, Red Stone and Tanger Outlet Mall; this also makes it unnecessary to rent a car. Not only are there homes in Old Town on Park City’s shuttle route but there are some with ski access to Park City Mountain Resort. Another benefit to staying in Old Town is that you can walk to Main Street for dining, shopping, nightlife, and exploring. Since parking in Old Town is sparse, staying in Old Town is that much more ideal.

Utah Vacation Homes offers several lodging options in Old Town ranging from moderate to upscale and 3 bedroom to 5 bedroom. Many of these properties are neighboring and can be reserved together to accommodate larger groups.
